嶺南大學是香港一所歷史悠久的知名學府，其前身為格致書院，於1888年在廣州創立。學校於1927年正式易名為嶺南大學，並於1952年停辦。嶺南書院於1967年在香港司徒拔道復校，並於1999年正名為嶺南大學，成為香港八所公立大學之一。在逾百年的教育實踐基礎上，嶺南大學正致⼒發展成為數字時代的文理融合型大學。

嶺大少雪齋藝術展覽館早前舉辦了兩場「日常之美：中國漆藝裝飾體驗」工作坊，讓公眾學習這項以蛋殼作為漆藝裝飾的傳統技藝，體驗當中的自然魅力與趣味。活動特邀土壤文創藝術家李釧毅女士和郭章樂先生，為參加者介紹中國漆藝的歷史和文化意義，並即席教授蛋殼漆藝、母貝鑲嵌及金粉裝飾的技術，讓參加者在理論與實踐中獲得全面的了解。在動手創作環節，一眾參加者學習使用特製工具，將各種雞蛋殼和鴨蛋殼壓碎、拼湊，再以生漆黏貼在器皿上。根據蛋殼不同的顏色、大小和形狀的搭配，他們創作出一件件獨特且富有個性的藝術作品。參加者王小姐表示，能參加這次工作坊感到非常高興，並期待嶺大未來能舉辦更多有趣的文化藝術活動，讓更多公眾參與其中。Lingnan University’s Chamber of Young Snow Art Exhibition Hall recently hosted two workshops titled “The Beauty of Everyday: Experience Session on Chinese Lacquer Decorations”. These sessions allowed the public to learn the traditional craft of eggshell inlay, immersing themselves in its charm and creativity.Artist Ms Li Chuanyi and Mr Guo Zhangle from The Gallery by SOIL introduced participants to the history and cultural significance of Chinese lacquer art. They provided hands-on instruction in techniques like eggshell lacquer, mother-of-pearl inlay, and gold powder decoration, blending theory with practice.During the creative segment, participants used special tools to crush and assemble various eggshells, adhering them to vessels with raw lacquer. By combining the different colours and shapes, they crafted unique pieces of art. Participant Ms Wong expressed her delight in attending the workshop and hopes for more cultural events at Lingnan in the future.

嶺南大學黃炳禮音樂及演藝部與香港三聯書店合辦的「跨越時空的古今樂事 -- 中樂的現代傳承」主題研討會，於3月1日在嶺大音樂教學實驗室舉行。The "Ancient and Modern Musical Events Across Time and Space - Modern Inheritance of Chinese Music" seminar, co-hosted by Lingnan’s Wong Bing Lai Music and Performing Arts Unit (WBLMP) and the Joint Publishing (Hong Kong) Company, was held at the Music Laboratory on 1 March.

嶺南大學校長及韋基球數據科學講座教授、香港工程院院士秦泗釗教授於香港大學與香港工程院合辦的一個科技講座系列發表演說，題為「從 ChatGPT 到 DeepSeek 的突破與高等教育的變革」，講解人工智能近年的迅速發展及其廣大影響。Prof S. Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science of Lingnan University and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering (HKAE), delivered a lecture in the TechTalk Series organised by the University of Hong Kong and the HKAE. Titled “Breakthroughs from ChatGPT to DeepSeek and Higher Education Revolution”, he discussed the rapid development of AI and its widespread impact.

【當AI遇上心理學：嶺大合辦首屆國際會議 解構數碼時代心理健康密碼】嶺南大學心理學系獲粵港澳高校聯盟支持，聯同中山大學、人民大學合辦首屆「數碼時代下的身心健康國際會議及工作坊」，分別於2月21日假嶺大校園，及2月22日移師中山大學深圳校區舉行。會議雲集17位來自內地、香港、美國、荷蘭和韓國等國際頂尖學者、AI專家和業界領袖進行分享及主題演講，首日已吸引近160人參與，共同探討如何將心理學融入AI發展，以應對工作、醫療和日常生活領域帶來的挑戰。【Lingnan co-hosts first AI-related psychology conference】With the support of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, the Department of Psychology at Lingnan University in collaboration with Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) and Renmin University hosted the inaugural International Conference and Workshop on Health and Well-being in the Digital Era on the Lingnan campus on 21 February. The conference continued on 22 February on SYSU’s Shenzhen campus.The conference, featuring a series of keynote speeches brought together 17 pre-eminent scholars, AI experts, and industry leaders from Mainland China, Hong Kong, the US, the Netherlands, and South Korea, highlighting the crucial role of psychological science in shaping AI applications across work, healthcare, and daily life. Approximately 160 participants attended on the first day.
